Hey all,
Just a quick one. ever since owning my defender the wipers wouldn't park or do the intermittent speed. Fix was the park switch fixed to the wiper motor.
I am in SA and after calling sprints, bursons, repco and even super cheap there was only 2 alternatives i could find. 1: was $17 genuine part off the net from the UK (including delivery) or 2: was i rang land rover adelaide and the same part (which they didn't have in stock but would order from the uk) was $90 (plus delivery) with a rude remark that i was price checking and never intended to buy from them, thanks land rover parts/service guy, really nice customer service. Especially as i know the part costs no more than $10.
Anyhow, as i am impatient i decided to grab a razor blade and have a look inside since it was stuffed anyhow.
Long story short, if u do have an issue, just get it out, cut around the joint and look inside as all it was was a copper contact had come lose (probably due to bumps during 4wding) and it needed to be pushed back into place. Took about 20mins to do the whole thing inc removal and replacement from the car. I just popped a dob of superglue in each cnr then popped it back together.
Hope it helps someone.
Cheers.
Also did the LED dash light upgrade this arvo, Blue LEDs and it makes a HUUUUGGGGEEEE difference to the visuals, and $20 from super cheap for the 6 Blue LED globes and a White LED for the overhead interior
;)
