Does anyone know the temperature a camping stove gets up to?
I want to heat some parts to expand them for a press fit, but don't want to soften the metal.

Your average LPG stove in good condition puts out around 12,000BTU/h. If the part is in an oil bath I don't think you will have a problem. Straight on the flame things will get hot but probably not enough to damage the part if it is steel. Bear in mind, I am no expert in the field. Give it a go with a no critical part first.
