Say hello to Trevor for me. Hopefully he still remembers me. I did some ferry flying of his planes years ago. Spent a few drunken nights in Boort with him and his brother Adam. Just don't let him near bonfires and hay bails. (Tends to fall over the bails and into the fire!)
Is he still seeing that doctor from the RFDS?

When you say Gday from Luke, do the same for me!!
He may rememeber me as Digger or Nige but anyway should recall I used to come up from andamooka esp for the races (im a copper).
I love the job he did on the fettlers quarters turning into a great house!
and I was very disapointed when the traffic lights at WILLIAM CREEK were removed :( They were fun to sit at Trevs and drink and watch...spot the city drivers!!
Its a great spot and a terrific place to visit.. If Trevs picked you out to run it for a bit, he must think youre a good bloke and someone who can be trusted with his "baby", (trevs practically single handedly kept W?C running forward for years!! Including a sealed airstrip, fantastic racecourse facilities and a very comfortable caravan park (with GOOD showers!)!
Anyone who hasn't visited should shake a leg and get up there - spend a couple days at william creek and just go with the flow... can go on to finke/chambers pillar/or coober pedy, or back and down to roxby/andamooka woomera/ or across to marree (and the base of the birdsville track)/ lyndhurst (base of strezlecki track)/leigh creek and down to flinders etc...
do yourself a favour and visit!

We've got a couple of Landy's that'll be out that way in about a month, so will definitely call in and say hi!
As if we'd drive past the pub without stopping in :D

I will Luke and Digger, Trevor is a ripper bloke and it's a ripper spot, I'm looking forward to it. Digger you might know aunt and uncle they ran Boort hotel for a few years - Jim and Margaret Taggert with their 4 daughters?
I will have to chase up those traffic lights, I love a practical joke or two!
So anyone with a LR heading up the Oodnadatta track be sure you drop in, I'll reserve the shady cars parks for you! :)

Who is Trevor? I have been going to William Ck since before the "new" racetrack facilities were built and have been a member of the William Creek Gymkhana Committee. Since 2009 through sometime 2012 the publican was Bruce...cant recall surname. The only Trevor I know who had big input into the racecourse facilities was Trevor Williams owner/manager of Nilpinna station along with the awesome input from Anna Ck station. There are many other local personalities I could mention, but this Trevor doesn't come to mind. I am happy to be corrected and updated but the William Ck hotel has not stood strongly behind the Gymkhana committee regarding input into the towns only major events, the Gymkhana pre easter and the Bronco Branding/Campdraft in august.
In fact the hotels management has baulked the committees attempts at times to provide food and refreshment outlets for the public and the committee has been forced to out source supplies from outside rather than through the hotel. Other peoples interests in this facility have really been only to feather their own nests.

Hi all, well i have arrived and loving it! I will say hi to Trevor for you and in fact get him to read the posts himself.
It is Trevor Wright who owns WrightsAir and has operated out of WC for years, he has run the flying business for a long time and now owns the whole town!
My first duty today was to get the fuel prices down, after some analysis it has had its first price drop in two years!
Fuel prices as of today are $2.10lt for Deisel and ULP this is a major reduction from the previous price of $2.24lt
See you some time on the track.

Great pub went there last year on an 8 week road trip, had one of the best meals of the trip.
Fuel prices were on the high side but it does have to get out there, place was full and had a great atmosphere.
Really recommend the trip for anybody who hasnt been

yeah David, I only ever knew Trevor Wright as ''Wrighty"....well as hes now the mayor, and the council, the realtor and the publican things might look up a bit. I hope, in fact I'm sure he will liase better with the Gymkhana committee than the previous publican. Will you be there for the Bronco Branding ? If so , I'll see you then.....I will probably have the only D2 there. The weekend 17-18 august is the National Camp Draft finals so William Creek may inundated. Have you met Hobbsy yet? If not....you will. He's the cook. Ooroo, Dennis

You have done well for your first day. We took one look at the price on the pump and decided it was time to turn on the second tank for the run through to Coober Pedy.
