Cape York Trip

Hi All,

A few friends and I are heading to Cape York. We meet in Cairns on the 8th, and departing on the 9th September.

Prior to the departure date, several of us are slowly making our way to Atherton from the south to meet at the Atherton camping ground on the 1st September to spend a few days doing day trips and soaking up North Queensland.

Nice! I'm doing the telegraph track and Creb track on August 13th. Got two weeks off and am gonna conquer the cape.

I read about the Creb track, sounds like my kind of track. Best of luck you are so close. I have around 4000km to travel before hitting any dirt road.

It will be a good endurance and fuel check test when fully loaded.

Where exactly are the camping grounds ? or are you at a C/Park ?
Camps are very thin on the ground around that part of the country.

If I'm home around the 1st of Sept I might drive over & say Gooday. I have been & will probably continue to do regular trips to Mappon so I don't know if I will be here. If not, call in at the Mapoon Store & camp at Cullen Point to enjoy the veiw, fishing & sandflies.
