Hi All,

I fitted my rear Kaymar bar with great success in one day. I decided to wire the LED bar lights to the trailer wiring loom as this is easily accessible as plug and play connectors below the rear left tail light.

Although all functions work well, one anomaly is that each time you close any door, or rear tail gate, the indicator and tail light flashes. This is only on closing.

Is this normal with others who have a Kaymar bar fitted and wired to trailer lighting?

I avoided Orem vehicle wiring for a number of reasons, like can bus and load issues.

Regards

Gerald

I wouldn't worry too much ours does this too with a trailer on with standard wiring. Don't ask me why it does it, land rover couldn't answer this.

Hi Steve,

OK, thanks, good to know. I tried a number of resistive loads etc trying to emulate a lamp load and the same effect.

Case closed.

Gerald.

Much has been written on the topic of LED trailer lights and the pulse the d3 & 4 put down the trailer circuit looking for a trailer. This is what you are seeing when you close the door.

My suggestion would be to live with it. If you put a load resistor across the LED's the vehicle will take that to be a trailer and disable the rear park sensors, reverse camera(if fitted) and alter the DCS.

I have fitted LED's to by bike carrier light board so that when the bikes are on it doesn't alter the DSC and camera but manually switch off the rear parking sensors which are triggered by the bikes.

As mentioned case closed. Although unusual behaviour for any vehicle, happy with the pulse and no warnings. Thanks for the feedback.
