6 months???....Yes indeed.....a long time, but we had a few options, so..we gotta wait.
The "U.K." "on line" options are, Keswick green with Indus Silver roof, Cold Climate pack, Half Leather Pack,.....all the rest of the stuff is just accessories, so will be fitted by the Dealer.
This will be Wifey's car, & she is absolutely thrilled.
Cheers, Pickles.

Mate, you will both love this thing, I've had four landrovers over 25 years, they've all been great but this one is really good! I've said that about all of them though, but you'll love it! I have an MY12 90 and I don't regret getting it for one second!

Nice one. You wont regret it, picked our 90 up 4 months ago and have not stopped smiling since. It's our first Defender and we're totally in love with it, seriously discussing ordering a second!!!

BTW We have the half leather too and it's v. nice.

Congrats. I've had my 2003 Td5 90 for a month and its been unreal so far. So I imagine a new one would be awesome.
I've had so many waves and also comments and offers from people interested.
While my Disco 4 I had previously was an amazing car (very quiet, comfortable, powerful, great stereo etc etc) the 90 Deefer just has more character and I feel more attached to it already.
I know you'll be very attached soon and will be fighting with the wife to drive it.

Thank You all for your interest.
It will be Wifey's car, & it will be a long wait, because some of the options on the car are installed during its build in the U.K.
The colour will be Keswick Green with a contrasting Indus Silver roof, which we thought would go with the mags etc. The options which cause the delay are the Contrasting roof, Half Leather seats, & Cold Climate Pack, which are installed in the UK, hense the delay.
We've also ordered the chequerplate, tow pack, protection mats etc.
Cheers, Pickles.

I'm pretty sure a standard size VIC plate on the rear will overlap the edge of the car... too big. Better slim front and back.

I'm jealous!!! I'm not aloud to get personalised plates for my LR's.... wanted LRS380 - as in LR series 3 1980, for my old beast. and SHORTY for the new one.... but alas.... :(

I really like the keswick too, although at first I was a little hesitant... now I love it.... If i repaint my S3 I'll paint it keswick too! :D:D:D:D:D:D:D:D:D

No. The Aussie Defender has a small "bracket/addition" on the rear of the body, ensuring that the plate will not overlap.
Cheers, Pickles.

"Keswick" has grown on us. Originally we thought a really "classic" colour would be something like the Aussie army "khaki" or something along those lines, but Keswick has been around for such a long time (we visited Wifey's relos in England in 2000 & they had a Keswick L.R.), that the colour has really "grown" on us, to the extent that we think it's perfect......haven't seen one with an Indus roof though?!
Cheers Pickles.

I could do with one of those, having looked at mine I could not figure out a way to make the plate fit without an overlap.... any one got a pic of this bracket/addition?

edit: sorry to jump in on the number plate comments... congrats on the 90 decision. Kenswick Green = good choice! :)

lol... that is classic land rover... 'we'll just rivet on a little bracket here aaaand job done'
love it.

As a factory item, paint matched and all I quite like it... so long as they don't get caught offroad. From the pic it looks well angled to deflect any contact.

I suppose I could get a bracket like that but on my clunker probably easier to go for some slim euro plates.

Anyway, Pickles hopefully you will make it through the 6 month wait without going too mental :)

I honestly can't work out why the ADR won't allow the almost square rear number plate that's fitted to Defenders everywhere else in the world.

The little wedge thingy is 100% specific for Aussie Defenders...

I can imagine debate and decision on ADR for things like the exhaust facing squarely backwards. Maybe a safety or environmental origin, but the number plate thing has me stumped.

Cheers,

Lou

Well, it's going to be a LLLOOONNNGG wait that's for sure, but we've had to wait similar times for the last couple of cars we bought, so I'm sure it won't be too bad.
My daughter's just had her first child, so I'm going to enjoy being Grandpa, & Wifey's off to the Holy Land in a few months, so there's a few things happening to take our minds off it!
Cheers, Pickles.

The number plate thing is nuts!

I imported my 2004 South African 110 and just couldn't face putting one of those awful brackets. I just made up a slightly reduced size plate and fingers crossed that the Feds don't give me too much heat (1 year down and ok so far, I carry the real on in the back under the seat).

Incidentally I have a friend who has a 2004 South African built 110 Extreme (about 1000 earlier of the production line than mine), his was imported officially to Australia and doesn't have the wedge but the number plate is bent round the rear corner, looks awful!
