Hi there all,
Does anyone know what the part number is of the bearing in the idler pulley to the right of the Aircon compressor and water pump on a TD5 Defender MY2002.
Mine seized up completely this evening.
Cheers, Jurgens.

I think you're meant to replace the whole thing, pulley and all. However I managed to replace the bearing, using sockets and a hammer (I now have a press). Once you take it off you can see the bearing number. It cost stuff all by itself.
Cheers,
Jono

Hi there Jono,
Mine seized up and destroyed all the numbers, might just take it to my local bearing guru and ask them to measure and match.
Thanks, Jurgens .

Supercheap have a selection of idlers with several different shaft sizes.
I bet you would find one to fit and they are quite cheap, without all the hassle of trying to fix yours.
I recall a bloke with a RRC with serpentine had one go on a trip to MT Pinnibar and he found one in Khancoben of all places even though the garage guy said nah mate no chance.

AFAIR the supercheap ones are $30, but I may be wrong as I didn't take too much notice as I have new idler and tensioner.
