Yes, the wheezy old 250 Falcon motor has come a long way hasn't it, a pity it's nearly end of life.

I'VE seen a stock bottom end make 750 kw in turbo form, Definitely one of Ford oz's best engines.

What fuel ? My sons BF Turbo is 360 at the wheels on standard injectors and intercooler from memory e85 fuel and a good map ;)

The fuel is pump 98 octane.
The car has 60lb injectors and a very expensive and efficient exhaust, and has standard intercooler.
As you can see this map is after 18 dyno runs! The big sags were from a split intercooler pipe , bad plugs and big flange leaks on the turbo. The tuner is Autotech Sydney .
The car did 13 flat with all the problems so my son is looking to 11s, if he can get a good launch so the auto has also been reflashed to allow a 2800RPM load. This was on street tyres.
The increase at low revs is 70BHP which is a massive % wise.
He already has problems with traction so he will have more I guess.

Its the torque curve that is amazing. He previously had a GT which is very slow by comparison.

Come on.
The Corolla surely would have no lag at all with that turbo LOL.

But we are talking here a basically standard Falcon FPV Typhoon, which is an everyday driver and perfectly mannered until you caress the accelerator.
It doesn't even have HD rods as far as we know. It idles perfectly , part throttle is seamless. Fuel economy is better than 10Lper 100Km at 110Kmh.

You can also get over 1000Rear wheel horsepower from a Falcon engine with lots of mods, which is amazing , seeing the block started in 1960 or thereabouts.

Yes I agree the Ford 6 is a great base engine, it was a bit TIC to link that dyno session 2JZ GTE....

Speaking of 1000Bhp, BMW were getting over 1000BHP from their 2 litre formula junior 3 series 2 litres back in 1980.
2 of the cars came to Australia, and they were space frames with silhouette bodies which were raced in Sports Racing Closed( or Run what ya brung) in JPS livery. Only one was run AFAIR and the other used for shows and parts. I wonder what happened to them. I have a photo somewhere of my then 5 year old son sitting in one in Marlboro livery.

I can recall Alan Grice complaining to Frank Gardner that the thing was so flexible he couldn't find the gearstick sometimes after its first outing at Winton.
BMW AG prepared blocks that they bought back from wreckers, as they were then "seasoned"

my money says it wouldnt....

the series would make lots of expensive sounding metalic clanging noises as the rest of the drive line self destructed.
