I've seen a few people in the UK on Disco3 site have done the facelift.
I was wondering if anyone here had done the same? I quite fancy just doing the grille like this:

There's a guide here:

Ah, the good old "Narpy" grille.
I thought about it, but then I bought a Supercharged style grille, and then I changed my mind again and will be going for the full D4 conversion.
Some of those grille conversions look ok, but some just look butchered.

I wouldnt bother with doing it like that, I might consider just doing the aftermarket swap out bits if it was a more reasonable price to buy the bits. The purchase price on eBay is acceptable but the shipping is a killer.
Any local suppliers?

Yes I like the idea but not the 'bodge' to do it.
If there were a few people interested then might be worth trying to get a group buy?
Also interested in the colour coded door handle covers (depending on ho good they actually look).

If you're interested in a grille, all i can say is keep your eye open on the markets, there may be one there shortly

And on the colour coded door handle, I have to say I don't like them or the mirror covers.
I'm doing the coloured wheel arches, tailgate handle and lower tailgate trim though.

I used to fancy the idea of upgrading but as time has gone on I prefer the D3 more and more. The D3 was the off roading alternative to the fancy pants never go off road RR and RRS (Gordon excluded). Now that the D4 is all colour coded I don't get the same feeling and feel they have made it a poor mans RRS.
Don't get me wrong as I think the D4 is very good looking but I like the statement the unpainted arches give that this car is ready for business.
I secretly hope they will bring a retro D4 option with the upgraded engine.

I like the D4 upgrade look but a guy on a forum here in South Africa captured the charm of the D3 best by calling it "The Original Designer Army Boot", which I think captures the D3 look perfectly!

And here's me trying to do the unpainted arches on my D4.
Mine were scratched, stone chipped and looking generally rubbish. So sanding, filling and painting is cheaper than replacing them for me.
Chances are that I'll need to repaint in months or years to come, but $30 worth of paint and a day of my labour doesn't worry me.

The idea of the unpainted durable arches seemed to be very smart as at least they will absorb some abuse for a long time before needing to be changed and - in a perfect world - they would not be too expensive to replace after a while with new genuine.
No one biting on my poor man's RRS comment as what is now the real difference between them other than a different profile and very minor cosmetics? Seems odd.
The cynic in me says that the actual cost of production differs maybe <5% between the D4 and RRS and maybe 5-10% between RRS and FFRR yet they charge nearly 100% more between D4 and FFRR (remember the FFRR only got TR in the last edition and does not have 7 seats).
I know people who acknowledge that the D4 is the better overall package but is not not 'expensive' enough for them socially!!! (although they don't say this) I just wish the D4 was kept less shiny so there was clearer differentiation between the products.

I have a 2009 D3 so I already have the colour coded wheel arches etc so I might as well do the grille if I could get one at a reasonable price.

Like you mine is a 2009 so has the C/C bits.
There's no denying the D4 is nicer looking & more luxurious inside, but I actually prefer the 'rugged' appearance of the D3 interior - otherwise you'd just buy a RR.
