Hi Guys,

Apologies for creating another rear window thread but I have searched this forum and the RAVE Manual and can’t find an answer. My rear windows are unresponsive when I press the front console buttons and the rear door switches. I have checked my ECU (see poor quality photos below) and can’t seem to find any faults. All the diodes look to be in good nick plus there are no burnt terminals on the flip side. I’ve checked every fuse in the car both under the bonnet and steering wheel. I resorted to pulling off the door trim on the rear passenger side but nothing looks a miss. I thought it may be an actuator but it would be highly unlikely that both have failed, surely?

You can see the ECU housing on the left in this picture. I cant for the life of me figure out what the box in the middle with the square yellow plug hole is. The green plug fits into it and it makes a grinding when plugged in. I'm guessing it was left unplugged by the previous owner for a reason.

I would appreciate any input as I’m pretty well stumped.

Thanks
FD

Had problems with one of mine but luckily it was the switch. maybe a dry joint on the ECU is your problem. "Repair a Land Rover Discovery electric window ECU to make the rear windows open again" (http://www.landyworld.co.uk/discowindows.htm)

I've exhausted that link and there are no dry joints

I might try replacing the rear switches

If both front and rear switches are unresponsive then the problem has to be either power to the window motors or in the ECU itself .

The console buttons now work. I've tested the door switch wires with a mulitmeter and they are ok, I'm going to replace the switch and see if that works. Hoping its not the actuator motor..

Pop your switch panel out and plug the front window plugs into the rear window switches. This should confirm your switches are working (or not)

the rear window switches on the console are working now. The switches located on the door are playing up I think.

Not the rear window disable button on the switch panel ??

I checked that. Thanks. :D

I thought it may have been an aftermarket child lock or something that wasn't in the manual as the previous owner had young children.

I spoke to a wrecker about acquiring some second hand "working" switches.

He said it was normally a module that plays up under the centre console.

I can't find it in the manual, so im stumped.

Watching this with interest as I think I have the same problem but not intermittent....

Have not heard that one before. Does not mean it is not so, but I am on my 3rd D1 and do not recall seeing it.
