After going to toyota in 2007 just brought a disco 3 v8 with 100,000 on the clock and cant believe how fantastic this car is with full ULR service history. will have ARB front, Kaymar rear, yellow top duel battery, home made drawers and BFG all terrains over next few weeks. Still cant decide on roof rack so any help would be appreciated

Sounds great!
I was really close to going for the V8, just can't beat that V8 rumble.

Depending on how much stuff you have been reading on this forum already, there is definitely help here on:
1) Installing a dual battery (Traxide system) - I believe there is a discount if you mention the forum
2) There are a set of plans for how to make a customised drawer system (and quite a few variations and improvements) here (http://www.aulro.com/afvb/d3-d4-rrs/105305-drawer-system.html#post1514565).
Cheers!

I still love my drawers and would not change a thing with them.
Works perfectly for me and the turnbuckles which I used to hold the unit down have not come loose on nay of my trips.
My instructions can be downloaded from either my signature or here:
http://www.aulro.com/afvb/projects-tutorials/138015-d3-d4-build-yourself-custom-storage-drawer-unit.html
Only 459 download and counting.
Take your time, get help if you need and hopefully you will enjoy the fruits of your labour. :D

Yeap - I loved how on that thread someone posts an original design and how each iteration just got better and better! I am waiting for the day to make mine and I would go with Rich's design as well - the offset centre, the cut-outs etc. There was also a note in that thread about saving some money by choosing the right type of ply as well.
Only 459 download and counting.
I liked it so much I downloaded it twice! (and bookmarked it!)

glad your happy with your D3 - just check you can put and ARB bull bar on the front end - thought there might be an issue with air intake - or it may have been for the snorkel. Great vehicles otherwise with heaps of power. A friend also has one - he loves it.

Think long and hard before going for a genuine Expedition rack. Damn expensive, noisy, and most frustrating, impractical. I persevered with mine for a couple of years. The last long trip was the stone end, and I sold it soon after getting back.

Thanks guys, ARB bar fit no problem. still cant decide on roof rack as need flat rack for XTM roof top tent. Ended up going for 9000 lb warn winch and Dollium rear wheel carrier, deep water duel battery with redarc at this stage. home made draw system all up cost $600 with 125kg sliders work a treat
