Just washed, dried, waxed and buffed Zulu, our 2008 Defender and she looks really well. I thinking of doing the same to the Mrs. Now I am not naieve enough to expect the Mrs. to come out looking half as well as Zulu but it's bound to be some improvement. Now my question is, do I get the wife to shave her legs first? I'm just worried that if she does shave her legs, the stubble will get caught in the buffing cloth. Does anyone have any experience of this either way? All advice will be greatly received.

To avoid the stubble issue, have your wife wax her legs, rather than shave. In fact to get the best finish, it's probably advisable to wax all hair below waist level ... :wasntme::whistling:

Agree with Mojo re waxing below waist (its a safety thing) but I have found the it also depends on your buffing technique. I tend to use an electric buff for big areas but always finish off by had in all the nooks and crannies!!

I'm assuming that you'd need to get her in the buff before you polished her??:wasntme::angel:

when you work out the best way to do this, post a video tutorial, I'm sure many people will appreciate the info.....

Probably best not to try an oil change while you're doing it.

spudfan,
My advice would be leave it to the professionals.
Give her a voucher to a "beauty spa", that way you get the brownie points for being a good husband and you can get the job done properly by professional restorers.
They will most likely also add some touch up paint to the exposed areas and filler to smooth out the bumpy surfaces as well as dealing with aforementioned hair with out you worrying about damaging your expensive lambs wool or microfibre buffing cloth.
I have found that regular "treatments" have a positive effect on localised nocturnal activity and more favourable responses to your next request for a weekend away playing in the dirt with your mates.
Just my thoughts.

Call Me when/If you ever get out of Hospital
Other than that i would start with a very long handled Waxer.

Go to the local bowling ally, they have polishing machines.

Take some massage lessons and then ask to practice using some suitable oil. Could have interesting results...;)

... Even more interesting results if you practice on someone else first... but in the light of Occ Health & Safety I would'nt advise it....

You would be better off changing the locks.
She's only going to do it anyway :wasntme:
