On a previous thread I mentioned that I could not unlock my passenger side door, as a result my passengers had to do a dukes of hazard style entry and exit, after much stuffing around thinking it was electrical issues, I finally diagnosed the problem as a buggered door lock mechanism, wasn't brave enough to attack it myself...it took the guys 4hrs just to get the door unlocked!!!so rest assured these rangies are bloody hard to break into!

On a follow up to this matter, the land rover recommended fix for a dead locked door is to sacrifice the door trim @$4256! This means cutting the door trim, cutting the guard around the actuator and opening the door. Luckily for me, the guys persevered with going in from the top, saved the door trim and got the job done for "only" $1900....but a very difficult job.

I've had this problem with mine and put out a thread on it.You should really check out all info on this site before throwing money away.Next time it happens and it probably will, this is what you do.Do NOT listen to anyone who tells you to cut the door card!!Mine was front passenger door and this is what you do.Open rear door and find door staple on body, cut this through with hack saw blade or power blade and door opens.Fix or replace lock and you're done.Labour for mine was $75:p.Rear door could be another problem, soon as mine plays up even once i'm getting new lock.Hope this helps some of you;).
