I saw an add-on battery pack for mark4 iphones at Jaycar so I purchased one. Neat looking unit but it wouldn't work. I have just taken it back and the sales assistant tried it on his and got the same fault. He stood thinking for a moment and asked me what os version I was running. I said it was the latest so he had another think and came up with what he thinks is the answer. Apple have blocked these add-on devices in their latest upgrade. Apparently there are a number of these devices from different manufacturers so Apple blocks them. Nasty people:mad::mad::mad:

Thats why Samsung and Android phones are taking over. I never update the OS on a phone or computer. Still running WinXP on a 10yr old desktop.

The android upgrades over the last few months have been great, just push the samsung further and further ahead of the opposition.

This one (http://www.ebay.com.au/itm/External-4200MAH-Backup-Battery-Power-Bank-Pack-Charger-Case-Cover-For-iPhone-5-/121097041425?pt=AU_MobilePhoneAccessories&hash=item1c31f23611#ht_6121wt_926) for my iphone 5 (6.1.4)
I think both phones are up to date:( and the battery packs are working fine on them both. Thanx for the heads up and I'll let you know if anything changes with the next update.

I have to disagree with this
I have had a couple of these battery packs and all of them have worked on my iphone 5 and 4s
I have bought mine from EBay and I have given away as pressie to a lot of people too
Normally after people say wow what is that and wheeler did you get it
Never had a problem with them not working.
I think J car were clutching at straws to give you a reason why they were selling you crap.
I love how people who have never had an apple product are quick to blame apple software when they don't really know the phone.
Interestingly we have just taken on a new member of staff and he has been with us for 3 months and as a company we give everyone an IPhone and iPad. He had a personal Samsung galaxy and galaxy tablet.
He admitted they other day he was a Samsung fan and dissed apple but after useing the iPad and iPhone and how they work together and the ease to use. He says they make his galaxy phone and tablet look crap. Which he said had made him eat his words with mates.

My post was done with our Ipad?? Tried the Android tablet but fount the Ipad easier to use. Have used Iphones before and found them crap. I will be going back to real phone. No touch screen and multitude of apps, thats what the pad is for. I just want a phone with buttons that work as a phone without having to go thru crap just to make a call.

I was a Nokia man since mobile phones were invented.... then my (now ex) wife talked me into a Iphone 4 when it came out and it was time for me to upgrade.
Now ive got two ipods, an ipad, an iphone 4, an iphone 5, a mac mini, an apple Tv.......
What impressed me was the ability to have them all work together so seamlessly.
Theyve lasted longer than the Mrs did.....

And same as I you I like how they all work together.

Are phones without touch screens still available?

There is,you could try a Telstra Tough:o
The most basic phone of all time, but has a plug for an external antenna which is handy for some people.
I have a motorola touch phone which is great, the main reason i need a touch phone, it is to receive and send emails. To difficult to do this on a mobile with buttons.
The torch app is good as well.....
It does have heaps of features that i would never use,and at times a PITA.

I don't think so,is similar to my Motorola around town, and in local reginal areas.
There are still a few other button phones around as well, but i haven't used them.
If you were closer you could borrow the one i have as i only use it on holidays when in country areas, hooked up to the external antenna.Being a very basic phone,it is difficult to even txt on it,after having a smart phone.
