Well, I was chasing a small rattle (yeah I know, OCD) in the dash behind the instrument cluster in my '12 Puma. Couldn't find anything obvious so I thought I'd take the instrument cluster out and go for a drive to see if I could find it without that masking the sound.
Strangest thing, the car was very jerky (kangarooing so to speak) at slow speed, the throttle was responsive and there was no rev flare between gears and it had s--t loads of power right off the start, quite remarkable really. Maybe the cluster being disconnected alters the ecu.
Just thought I'd share that.........
No, I didn't find the bloody rattle either :twisted:
Edit: Forgot to add;
When I put the cluster back in obviously the tripmeter had reset, which I expected, but when I switched to start the engine I had a the words 'oil service' show up in the window where the odometer/tripmeter are for about 3 seconds and then go to the normal odo/trip screen. It only did this for about 3 or 4 on/offs then disappeared.
