I had a doctor's appointment in North Sydney on Wednesday, so travelled down by train on Tuesday, back yesterday on the XPT, and stayed with relatives at Dundas.

On Wednesday, I was waiting for a train about 1000 in Epping station, when I got a phone call from my son here to say that my three year old grand daughter had gone missing. There was nothing I could do from Sydney, but you can imagine how I felt.

By noon there were about a dozen neighbours and two police units at the house, with a tracker dog on the way. One of the neighbours was on his way to mark the track in to the house from the village for the SES about 1 pm, when he found her by the side of the track (near where the AULRO 10th anniversary competitions were held, for those who were here). She was unhurt, just a bit thirsty.

Much relief all round.

G'day John,

Good to hear that everything turned out okay after the drama. They are certainly heart in the throat moments!

Kind Regards
Lionel

There is simply no feeling that I have ever experienced worse than that empty feeling of being able to do absolutely nothing about a situation such as this.
Glad that she was found safe and sound, and that all turned out well for all concerned.
Regards
Glen

Glad to hear she is alright John, I had shivers down my spine just reading of your plight, I can't imagine what it must have been like for you or her parents. I am sure there would of been some big hugs for her when she was reunited with her parents.

Cheers, Mick.

Good to hear she is alright, John. After seeing her climb the fence, whilst we were there, maybe a 6 foot one is now needed:(

That would be a nightmare, glad it was all ok. We have 5 kids (13,11,7,2,1) and can see the monkey in them from about 2. Top shelf? No problem just climb the others. Freezer? Climb the door in the fridge busting it. Unless they get hurt doing it they have no fear and it's very hard watching them 12 hrs a day so don't let your kids be to hard on themselves for their daughter's escape.
As for 6ft fence, my second son was 4 and would roll the water table to the fence then stack his chair on it to watch them build next door!

Mum would not let go of her for over an hour!
