Hi All

As mentioned in my welcome post I am due to inspect a possible purchase of a 2005 D3 V8 HSE. It's done 111K Km. As this is my first LR I was hoping for some advise on things to pay particular attention too during the test drive and inspection. Its being bought from a Toyota dealership. Any advise would be most welcome. Having read some of this forum the transmission or lets say lack of oil change in the transmission can cause an issue with slippery? Or shudder gear changes. Is there anything else? Maybe a list of functions to operate on the TR system?
Thanks in advance

Listen out for front suspension clunks, quite often these bushes wear out. Easier to replace both lower arms than replace the bushes. Also check air suspension for correct operation, it's more likely to have problems rather than TR. Yes gear box - find a steep hill and take off from a stop, feel for shudder.

Oh and if you decide to buy it see if you can purchase an extended warranty, it will cost you thousands but it is worth it!

There are good extended warranties which are few and far between and then there is the usual rubbish ones. Others can offer which they think is good, bad or average.

Anyway apart from extended warranty you have 3 months or 5,000 k's to find any faults and then try and claim against the Dealers warranty.

Good luck with it.
