I have no idea where to go on this one.
My brake lights half work, as in the light at the top of the rear window comes on and the bulbs in the tail lights light up when I hit the brake peddle. Just not the lights that are at the bottom of the cluster.
If anyone can point me in the right direction on this I'd appreciatte it as I'm stumped.
Thanks

Don't think they are supposed to. Only tail lights and indicators in the bar, at least they are on mine.

I agree with Spel1.
Same thing happens with my D1, the bottom set almost appear to be some kind of extra that don't light up, either as brake lights or as parking\clearance lights.

Hey mate,
The lights at the bottom of the light clusters on the body at the rear are where the rear diff lights are as far as I understand it. Pretty sure that's how mine is.

Hi all,
The top part of the cluster are your brake/taillightthe bottom is your fog lights & there are no brke lights in the rear bar, only taillights.

I believe there is actually no fittings for globes in the lower fog lights but some people has modded them to accept globes .

Will have to disagree there. Mine has globes, fittings and a factory rear fog light switch on the instrument cluster.
Its not a custom job from the previous owner. Easy enough for me to tell. All of the "DIY" mods done on my car by the previous owner are absolute junk! This setup is definitely factory.

Likewise, all globes and fittings are in there at the back.

I must admit i have never checked mine but have read posts on here from those that have added them, maybe its the pre 94' models that didnt have them that i'm confusing it with ?
I have the switch also on the cluster but they dont nor have ever operated .

My '95 has working fog lights.
Brake lights are top of rear window and 1 each side on the body.
Tail lights can vary. Mine had bumper tail lights only, however they fill with dust and stop working, so I wired the body ones up as well so I had 4 tail lights. I've since removed the bulbs from the bumper so I always have 2 working lights instead of randomly 2, 3 or 4 working tail lights. ;)
I was told they came out of the factory with body tail lights only, but with the back door open you can't see the right hand tail light - a safety issue if you're stopped on the side of the road. So LR wired the bumper ones and disconnected the body ones.

The unused back pillar lights on my old D1 came on when I pressed the fog light switch on the dash side pinnicle switch. They burn very bright red so cars behind don't run in to you in Heavy fog. Illegal to use when no fog present
You may see little hatch backs on the road with 1 red light some where at the lower rear, same thing, fog light.
Cheers, Mario

Pre update had body lights only, all post update had both body and bumper lights.

Try pushing foglight switch on binicle when your main headlight is turned on to see if that works.
