Aircon evaporator freezes up solid.!!!!!!!!!
Aircon has not worked for a year so had a new evaporator fitted and regassed-- seemed to work ok. But if used for more than 2 hours it freezes.
Also the condenser fan does not go when aircon is turned on??
Any thoughts Please.

Take it back to the bloke that fixed it! The evaporater thermostat is not working this would have been removed from the evaporater when it was changed and maybe not put back in the right place or maybe just not adjusted properly.
The condenser fans maybe just have a faulty relay, try swapping it with another relay of the same type from another
Function.

I disabled the thermostat with no problem at all. My evaporator was not used during 7 years. It was just a thing of clean and put in his place again. One time the system started to freeze and it was only a thing of low gas. Just refill and check, everything ok since then.....
