After some lobbying with the organisation and showing Hebe during the Motorclassica show 2012 we got the managment interest to showcase Land Rover Series 1s in next years event. We would need about 10 to 15 cars. Who is coming to Motorclassica 2013 Melbourne with their Series one?

As Motoclassica is an International Concours d'Elegance event I feel my Series 1 wouldn't gain any points at all so not much point entering.

Do you mean the Motoclassica Club Sandwich ?

Hebe....if you are able to make this happen, you'll have done a good thing for Landrover enthusiasts, & "promotion of the brand", as this is a GREAT event & will give the brand great exposure to some dedicated classic vehicle enthusiasts.
I went last year...it was great.
Cheers, Pickles.

Forgive me if this is a stupid question, but if you have difficulty getting the numbers, would it be open for other Series Land Rovers, or strictly Series 1s? :)

We could sneak in some early 2s maybe? [biggrin] They wouldn't know... :wasntme:

(The event is 25-27 October 2013.)

But seriously, I made the contact last year, got the interest going and can make it happen, if indeed we get a reasonable number together. And aren't we proud of our S1s, why not!?

There are three options
1) We can ask to be inside for the Concours d'Elegance (3000$ for 20m2, Land Rover or LRSOC will you sponsor?)
2) or outside for the Club Sanwhich (picnic Sat & Sun, free by application)
3) or take part in the Tour Classica (drive around in a convoy, free as far as I can tell)

Before we discuss if it is worth while maybe answer... can you come?

If yes, that's one more one to come.

I can't make it as everybody else at work has holidays booked for around this time  mine's an early Series 2a so I probably just miss the boat anyway ;)

I didn't so much ask the question for myself, more for other early/earlier Series owners that may be able to make it :BigThumb:

Last year I asked the question to the organisation referring to Series 1s, but I guess they wouldn't have an issue with Series 2/2a's and perhaps even 3. (Can I suggest we give preference to those with main lights/lamps in the grill area?) For the organisation it probably depends on the age. I did see quite a few of younger (sports) cars. It depends on what mixture they wish to showcase. We can ask!

It is now more on us to get this organised. So, I would say... welcome... which Series 2/2a/3 would like to join in?

I can probably make one day but not all three.
Club Sandwich sounds like the best bet.
Does Club Sandwich get you entry into the show (free or discounted ?)

We were at MotorClassica last year with our other car, on the Triumph club stand outside. Don't worry about bringing a Landie in mint condition, there were a number of 'well worn' cars there last year and to be honest, it would be nice to see the more original patina'd ones as well as the immaculate in my opinion.

I didn't get much interest by Series 1s, 2s or 3s. I guess it is going to be ver late to continue with this. The picknick could still be an option but also for that we need to give the organisers plenty of notice. So, last call for S1, 2 or 3s?

I. had considered it , but then I found out the annual hot rod and classic car show down the road from me in Camperdown is on. I built a tear drop camper trailer a while ago to sell, and this is the perfect market place for me, so with that in mind thats where I'm off to on that weekend
