Been looking at a 93 2door for parts, has no wheels so is sitting on ground. It has what looks like a sub tank in r rear quarter panel and the main tank looks to be steel, maybe fabricated? But sitting on ground i cant really see it.My question is does this model have a steel or plastic tank?Im hoping it is a full long range tank which would make purchase price very good.;)

If it is an aftermarket tank, could be like the one I have, Long Ranger. The main tank is 120 ltrs and looks fairly flat from underneath and is a tight fit between the chassis rails, the side tank is an extra 35 ltrs. Long Ranger have a kit that connects them, look for crossover pipes on the right hand side near the chassis, might have a metal cover over them. The side tank cannot be connected to a standard tank because of the plumbing, so looks good for your purchase. If you end up using all the plumbing, don't cut any of it, keep them for length and fit examples. Good Luck.

Its possible that it has a 35ltr pocket tank in conjunction with twin under slung lpg tanks , its uncommon to have both a long range tank and auxiliary tank .

If it's a steel long range tank, be sure to thoroughly inspect it's insides. I had an experience with a long range tank in my disco, some rust had formed around a porous weld. The result was a replacement of the fuel pump, pickup, sedimenter, lines and injector pump.
