Thinking of upgrading my D3 to a D4 and will swap over as much as possible. Does anyone know if the ARB bullbar can fit onto the D4, has this been done. I've kept the original bumper and fittings to go back on the D3.

On the basis that D4-specific bars had to be designed I suspect that too much is different between the headlights, grilles and front of the mudguards to have only minor differences that might be accomodated with superficial changes.

I suspect getting the D3 back to a standard front end would be very difficult and costly>

Of course the D3 bar even if it fits the D4 will only be certified for the D3. The bar maker may or may not be prepared to provide a new certification plate to allow legal fitment of the D3 to the D4.

The answer is that physically it may fit (in as much as the points it bolts on to the ends of the chassis legs are the same) but cosmetically it may look like crap.
The D4 guards finish 15mm further back than the D3, the D4 headlight assemblies are about 35mm shorter and meet the grille differently compared to the D3.
So you'll have gaps all over the place.
In terms of restoring the D3 to standard, you'll need to replace the two wheelarch mouldings, as they will have been chopped. Will cost about $400 unless you can find something on eblag, or sell the bar and cut down mouldings on the condition that the buyer exchange their unmolested ones?

Thanks for your feedback, spoke to ARB today and they said no go. So looks like the bar will stay on the D3 along with the snorkle.

I'm not surprised, they'll be looking to sell you a new bar! :D
But realistically, they are telling you the right story, and most likely due to the point that Garry made above. If it's not certified for the D4, they can't fit it.

Yes it is only money, but I would prefer all new on a new vehicle.
