Guys and gals,
Ive been on a Facebook P38 page and they sure ask a lot of maintenance questions.
What I realised is that every answer they were looking for is here in this forum (and so directed them).
Just wanted to share that with you all what a great bunch of P38'ers you all are:)

Hi
I was thinking of starting a similar thread
I want to give a huge thanks to everyone in this forum for the help they give so freely :D
Without this forum and rr.net, owing a P38 would be much more expensive and painful
Regards
Steve

Well said, couldn't agree more!
One of the big reasons I own a P38 is the great contributions on this forum, and rangerovers.net
P38's can be tempremental beasts when they want to, but you can't imagine driving anything else. Ok, maybe a L322 :)

I'll third that! I reckon I only have to post a question for 1 of of every 10 things I want to know as most of the answers are already here.

To right, I owe a lot to many on this forum too. Hopefully I can buy some of you a Tokay... (hey, it's an attained level of sophistication, they're not hiluxes) :p
(I think ive been kicked of the bookface page, they don't appear in my news feeds anymore)
By the way, all that is being changed. Twitter youtube and bookface are being combined, it'll be called youtwitface. ;)
Thanks all.

Well I have to agree with most of the comments, P38 ownership would be impossibly expensive and frustrating without this and other similar forum. There`s always instant help and knowledgeable advise from like-minded addicts on AULRO. Unlike others I also find Youtube an incredible resource and have learnt so much from the video tutorials posted on a myriad of random topics including many on the P38. That along with every song I could ever want to listen to gives it a massive thumbs up from me. Long live the Forum and Youtube

Benji,
I hope you didn't call it a truck :p
There seem to be at least 3 or 4 P38 groups and countless Landrover and Range Rover ones as well.
This forum and rr.net are the holy grail for me:angel:

It really is a fantastic place to seek help and forum members are very quick with help and suggestions, as usually someone has had the same problem and knows the answer.
It's also good if you can give help to another member, gives real satisfaction.:)

I could not agree more.
This forum has not only saved me from $$$$ but also made me take an interest in car maintainance my self. It all started with changing out my own airbag...
I am sure there are still many things that I will not be able to do my self but it is nice to know support is there.
I just hope in time I will be as helpfll to someone else as some of the guys have been to me here.

Same here.
I am always telling my mates how good the P38 is, and how inexpensive and reliable it is, and how good the help online is. They all love it, but I say, "I cant recommend you buy one, unless you are willing to have a tinker yourself, or you have a good mate mechanic, or you are willing to pay servicing costs."
It is a shame that there is a caveat to the "Go get yourself a P38" advice :)

Having to tinker is all part of the appeal for me - I'd be bored stupid if there was nothing to do but wash it and drive it, although some days I do wish that were the case

I agree! To own a P38 you become quite close to and familiar with the inner workings. That's a good thing if something happens out bush - cant really say that about a new vehicle!
God bless the forums!
