Why would my d1 petrol manual rev its ring off at idle still? At the lights it takes a good thirty seconds to come down from 3000rpm to normal. Ive ttaken the air control valve out n cleaned, checked for air leaks, reset the afm to 1.5 volts and its timed to about 5 degrees btdc (gas/pet). Im truly at a loss

Check that your centrifugal advance is not sticking at advance and slowly returning to zero. A bit of oil down the shaft often helps.

Ha! Just measured resistance of efi temp sensor at 625ohms! Maybe the culprit of my woes!

So, if the water temp sensor is working, but the fuel temp sensor isn't (either because the wiring got damaged or the sensor itself is not working) then could you engine rev high and often overfuel and/or slightly miss when driving and at idle?

Can anyone tell me how the idle control switch should behave when energised? I tried mine and a secondhand replacement out of the manifold and plugged into the loom with on ignition and off and I couldn't tell any movement of the plunger.
