Has anyone re wired a fuel pump for a D1 V8? And if so what voltage does it require?
I had some earthing issues a while back and rewired the earth, even replaced the pump before I found the issue.
Yesterday the pump stopped again.
I checked the earth and no problem there but the positive wire when turning the ignition on only showed 3.6 volts and the main positive that comes in on startup showed 3.5 volts. The pump did not kick in.
Then I put a temporary 12 volt feed to the pump and it ran perfectly but I'm unsure if it's meant to have a 12 volt feed or not.
The pump is 3 months old and I have cleaned it.
I'm considering re wiring the pump as it's a pain in the butt ripping everything out to get to it.
Any thoughts would be appreciated.:)
