fitted shower system to car -its not hot

Hello,

I lased out and brought a on vehicle shower system, issue i have is that the water is hot for like 10 seconds then it goes cold, any ideas?

i think it could be the heat exchanger as my vehicle heater is still hot, pipe on the right way ect

These heat exchanger hot water systems need to have the engine running and up to temp. Was the engine running?

Yes car running and heater was red hot as now,

Sounds like no circulation in the heat exchanger.

Don't know if its possible with your system but seems to be maybe draining the hot contects of the piping and then you are just getting the cold water flowing through directly, rather than through the exchanger....

Are you SURE it's plumbed correctly?

Are the inlet/outlet pipes from the heater pipes higher than the pipes from cold water supply.
No airlock present and plumbed correctly. Put a picture up if you can.

is this on a d2?, i am sure i read these do not work on this car due to the climate control system... maybe more research required.

Yes I couldn't get mine to work on my TD5, the climate control stops the constant flow of hot water, which won't let it heat the shower water constantly.

If you have a 300Tdi then you might have the flow backwards, by that I mean you have the in and out around the wrong way.

The heater gets a constant hot water supply with only the air directed around the heater element if hot air not wanted as there is no heater coolant valve.

i Have had another look and both heater hoses coming in and out of the heat exchanger are red hot, i have contacted the manufacture for another heat exchanger.

Yes, tried a few ways thinking I had done it wrong, couldn't get a continuous flow of hot water.

It was not like I was doing it for the first time, I had the same exchanger on our previous 4WD, and it worked fine on it, I just could not get it to work on my D2.
