Just to let you all know, I've resigned as a Mod and Admin as I just don't get on here very much lately and I can't see that changing. I haven't read any posts in the past couple of weeks and have only posted Brian's funeral info.

Thanks very much for your help over the past few years.

Well Ron this is a surprise, but I can see from the few posts that I have read that you've been going through a lot lately. I haven't been reading all your posts so I certainly hope that things are going "kind of"OK

I, along with stacks of others, would wish you all the best wherever your interests take you, and wherever you find yourself needed.

I imagine that we may even catch up one day if you maintain contact with my Hawkesbury area acquaintances (Matthew & Co).

It's sort of like the song ... "so long - it's been good to know you" ...

Trusting that all the spellin' and grammar herein is correct :)

Best wishes and kind regards - Laurie

g'day Ron, I had seen that you had been very quiet on the forum for the last 6 months and then when I saw your post regarding your wife it became obvious as to why.

I hope for the best for you both, especially for her improved health.

Thanks for everything -hopefully it's just goodbye to the roles and not goodbye forever.

Ron,
I certainly hope we will see you from time to time, both here and in the flesh.

Undoubtedly, without your touch I see the literary standard of the forum dropping.

All the best for the future, and if in this part of the world, don't hesitate to give us a yell.

Thanks everyone. I'll be in and out occasionally but not on a regular basis.

I couldn't reasonably expect to stay as a Mod when I'm not doing the job.

My Rangie may be being disposed of, too, as I rarely drive it these days - only about 2,000km in the past year - it is usually just parked in the backyard.

Make sure you pair take good care of one another.
Would be great if you could drop in from time to time just to let us know you are both OK.

I have never met you but could not help but reckon you were a good bloke.

A great job done around here. I was a huge supporter of your spell check. Sad to see you going. I hope it all works out and if you ever venture south you are most welcome here.

You will be missed.:BigCry:

Foot note. A few years ago I won a bit on evilbay. The item been located in Sydney,(pick up only) Ron put up his hand and collected and posted it to me.

Ron, I have never met you, but I did know Brian (RIP) and he always spoke very highly of you and as Brian was a true gentleman it means you must be a genuine nice bloke. Sorry to see you go from the Admin/Mod side of things and I hope you poke your bib in occasionally. Good luck with your personal situation.

Cheers mate, Jim!!!:D:D:D

I've had to come back to fix the post count.

I was at 21,000 posts then, after I left, a number of posts of mine were deleted.

Two disadvantages of resigning as Admin are that my mailbox was reduced in size to 200 messages and I now have to wait for 40 seconds between searches. I was used to doing rapid fire searches. :D

I noted the other day, someone picked up on an apostrophe that was missing :D
Was nice to see, but probably not understood by a lot here :(

Ron,

If you weren't here then half of us (especially P38'ers) wouldn't have been able to make a go of Landy ownership.

Please don't drop off the radar completely... But if you do, know that we will always be in your debt and remember your online help and love of the true Engrush ranguage!

Thanks again,

Dave and the Pretty Pig.
