The suburbs metioned are right in the centre of loserland territory, nothing they do is at all surprising. The guy is a serial dipstick and needs to find a gum tree with his name on it.

Just needs a couple more vice grips to make a Y and an old BMX wheel to complete the steering wheel. (What a dipstick..) Perhaps send him over to Indya where they appreciate car and bike mods..

We used to move the odd car like this around the workshop but to take it on the road - what a nut job...

I remember a forum member posting a video of driving his project vehicle around the block, at night, with the same steering set up... didn't have any bodywork either by memory.

If I'm thinking of the same one as you, weren't they were back alley type streets?
But I could be mistaken.
Still, a lap around the bloke VS hit and run, while not having a license, having failed a drug test, uninsured and unregistered AND subject to a prior defect notice....
But I'll admit I was thinking along the same lines :)

Ha yeah very much quiet back alleys I think... probably didn't even scare the neighbour hood cat.

Vice grips are fantastic bits of kit though!

My first landrover up on a PNG island (Misima) was a mix of series 2A & series 3. I had to build one working vehicle from the 2 salvaged wrecks. Yes, I had a steering wheel! I was on very dangerous dirt tracks skirting mountain sides at times. However, resources were scarce. the exhaust was made up of old water pipes, the seats so rat eaten I replaced them with a foam mattress. The fuel tank was a 5L plastic Jerry can under the seat, and the compined brake & clutch reservoir was an old metal glue bottle. I got pulled at the government station by a main land cop who came up to sort a few things out. He wanted to impound the car there and then but I lost my s*** with him stating I was transporting a sick child to the hospital and that the locals would probably put black magic on him if the child came to harm because of the lack of transport back to the village. He let me keep the car but i ended up in court on the charge my horn didn't work of all things. I was threatened with transporting to the mainland (Alotau's Giligili jail) with 3 months hard labour if I didn't pay the threatened heavy fine. Ended up with a 50 kina fine and the magistrate begging me to sell him a push bike! (long story) But all that was nearly 30 years ago.

What about without the drugs, hit and run and the built up area..

Living in the country my older brothers pinched the steering wheel off my XT falcon so I couldn't drive it down to the buss stop. Pliers worked fine that day, I envy a man who had vice grips!

I drive through parts of Western Sydney, and with the most advanced technology and newest cars the higher majority of drivers are absolutely appalling. To the point I won't ride my CBR on the road anymore, this started when I worked in Parramatta, having to ride through Harris park or Westmead was like taking your life into your own hands. I call it 'Camry' territory.

:confused: Are you serious or I with my bad english can not appreciate a joke?
If you are serious with that attitude as a courtesy to the fellow members of the forum please let us know when you are on the road. We our love ones and friends will be safe on our houses.
Give my a Camry drive any time before a individual driving with a pair of pliers!

Attitude has very little to do with driving on ones own property 200kms from the nearest adjoining property. We had a 2km driveway that we drove the car down to catch the bus. Started driving the car at age 5. Most of the time it had no panels or windows, and one of the cars (Datsun 120y)we made into a convertible, not a recommended procedure.
Bit of tongue and cheek in my previous response, apologies I could have been clearer.

Was trying to lighten up a pretty bad situation, people like the guy in that article will always be around. Unfortunately drugs and alcohol are a big problem in this country and will only get worse.

Ok, all good, thank you for the reply :)
Talking about drugs I just wonder how many accidents per year are because drivers taken prescribed drugs which could affect the brain.
