One of the items on the list from our recent trip, is one of those glove-box arrangements for the left-hand side of the dash. There seem to be a few mobs making them, so I'm wondering what people have found with the various makes, whether there are any problems with them etc. I'd prefer to fit one that retains the original grab handle.

There are a few of these.
If you examine them, there is one, which has a "full length" hinge, rather than two small hinges, one at each end.....this is the one I'd go for.....a bit dearer, but ya gets what ya pays for?
Cheers, Pickles.

Another option is what I have done with mine. I've just unscrewed the lid, had to remove some excess plastic bits, and a $5 paint tray cut down and siliconed in place. I don't even have a hinge on mine, just use the original clips to hold it in place, as it actually "clips" in when shut, it doesn't move or open to let stuff out.

I have the Mulgo version with grab handle - forget the standard handle and get the Mulgo one - the extra storage is worth it!!

I have a german made one. Metal floor, retains the original moulded bit of plastic for the lid, and has two hinges. Had it for 3 years now and very happy with it. Seems robust and doesn't flap up and down over the rough stuff.
I retain the original grab rail and the whole thing looks totally stock. Pricy though.

Who knows why LR didn't wake up to it.
