33s need 4.1, makes ratio all but spot on original. Ashcrofts has a ratio calculator if you want to play around.

Diffs...
Take a look at the website, quite often personal research will give you a good answer...

Ahhh sorry, 4:1 for diffs. I know you can get gear sets for low range in the transfer case, but they are very pricey, about twice the cost of doing both diffs.
High range can't be done afaik, so if you want to get better gearing, the diffs are the go.

I am going 32 inch on mine and I have worked out that 3.9 in the diffs will bring me back to standard.
Also by doing diffs, you can fix the weakness in the front diff which is working on the wrong side of crownwheel.

The other option if you want to do it via the transfer case is to put a defender Transfer in. The are 1:4 ratio in high range instead of 1:22 which would give a better up and go. I don't know how it equates to standard though.

I have been told that Defender transfer cases don't fit into the D2 for some reason?
Also, the Defender comes with 31" tyres, so changing to a Defender transfer case still won't be perfect for 33" tyres, but it would be better than the D2 TC which is for 29".

This is why.
