I have tried about 6 different tyre combinations with the company that has a large advertising header on this forum saying they will find and price any tyre easily for you. each result comes up with "0 tyres found" and gives me a card to fill in with all my particulars which I don't want to do. Does this company actually do what it advertises to do? Has anybody else used it to get tyre prices instantly?

Same here, 0 tyres found, and they are not getting my details for zero result either.

I've had results in a search, but every one just has the RRP crossed out with "ask for a deal" next to it. So same as you - fill in a form and they get back to you.

I still prefer the old get the yellow pages out and have a ring around approach.

I get good service and deals from my local Goodyear tyre outlet,(Goodyear Morayfield) but,I have dealt with the owner for 25+years now with all my vehicles, and am now dealing with his sons,as I used to use my ex-army 2a as my daily driver for years,I got the nick-name of "Army Man" even if I was driving the Commondore, it also is worth getting quotes from other companies and then telling your local bloke what you have he will often match or better the deal,I am at the moment getting prices on some Michelins and also some 7.50 x 16 conventional road pattern tyres for a vehicle.

cheers

yeah I understand that Uncle-Ho, but I thought that a company advertising here would deliver what it promises..ie..."the easiest way to shop for tyres".....but they don't give you prices as advertised.....I actually like to walk in and touch and sniff the rubber but thought that the forum supported ad might be worth a go.....

I also didn't get a result. I think their system relies on the customer filling out their details and then tyresales tenders out your requirement. even if you do a search for a falcadore it still only shows recommended retail and ask for a price.
I assume these ads are placed by Google so the advertiser isn't directly advertising on the forum.

I think you will find it is one of a package of ads that are considered to be a match to this forum.

as most are aware

the adverts enable aulro to operate without going to a full subscriber model.

top left is a google adsense placement, top right is from my aulro banner server that i operate.

the larger banner under the two smaller ones is from an advertising agency.

the ones in between posts etc are adsense placements.

Hi Uncle,
wondering what the michelins were for. I have been running XZA road tyres on the defa with very good results and i still have most of my hearing. Very quiet.

Looking at retreading ( bandag ) them as backup/short trip tyres for around home when it gets wet. Generally around town sitting below 80km/hr and obviously not running overnight interstate.....:)

Ps how's the hat??
