Hi the head has gone on my 300tdi I can get one fully assembled with gaskets and bolts for approx $750 delivered from the uk. Nearly half what I was quoted from a supplier in perth. Im not in a rush has any body imported one before and if so is the quality ok they say its a new design. Cheers

Who's it from, the cheapest complete head I could find was up over a $ 1000 with delivery, could get a bare head for that price but not a complete head, Regards Frank.

I bought a complete head (valves etc installed) & essential items (elring gasket, head bolts etc) total under $800 at the favourable exch rate then applying from Turners in the UK a couple of months ago - it took 3 days to get here. They were very helpful.
Keep your orders under $AU1000 or split them up if necessary, it should go straight through
Some of the advice I received and my experience here: http://www.aulro.com/afvb/technical-chatter/174234-300-tdi-head-gasket.html
In that thread you could take note of the advice I received on cleaning and the experience I had with torquing.
See also: http://www.aulro.com/afvb/technical-chatter/86145-300tdi-head-bolts-reuse-bin.html take a look at Ric130's posts from #31 onwards - there's some important info on bolt lubrication
Done a couple of thousand km with it, so far - so good.
