Short version, its somewhere in caboolture, i may be going up next weekend (11/8) any help is appreciated.

Long version

Week 6

The fund is at: $1480.33.

The dose of chemo has been increased and stem cell injections have been done as well.

Errol is responding well to the chemo but as many have said, only thing worse than cancer is

the chemo.

The last week donations:

Gary Fairle donated a set of Sports Seats. Just have to get them up from Yass, NSW to

Brisbane.

Roosystems have donated a new winch that has not been released on the market yet. The

current winch will be used as a rear mounted winch.

I request that anyone that comes along and helps, that they take high resolution photos and

pass them to me for collation for Errol as well as for a two page article in 4WD ACTION.

I am still chasing a SD33T motor and gear box out of a MQ or MK Patrol if at all possible. If

you know someone that has an old MQ or MK patrol rusting away in a back shed or paddock,

I’d like to talk with them.

Vehicle is being picked up this week and taken to Offroad Division for work to begin.

Anyone wishing to assist in the build by volunteering their time and expertise would be

appreciated. Contact Matt at Offroad Division on matt@offroaddivision.com.au or

Even if it is sanding back panels for paint or passing a spanner, it all helps.

If you wish to see the most up to date information on the build go to:

Errol D'Arcy Fund - ADF/ADO Members - Patrol 4x4 - Nissan Patrol Forum (http://www.patrol4x4.com/forum/general-discussion-18/errol-darcy-fund-adf-adomembers-102945/)

Week 5

The fund is at: $1155.33.

Errol is still completing his Chemo therapy with positive results. He still does not know that

this is happening.

Additional items that have been donated:

ARB – Premium Recovery Kit donated.

Harmony4x4 – Duel battery setup, UHF and a rear work light.

Darren Neumann – Two WW2 Artillery ammo tins (tool boxes), sand blasting and primer

ready for colour coding to vehicle to be completed this week.

Offroad Division – Ran an impromptu 4wd event last weekend, raising $176.90.

Terrain Tamer – Yet to decide on what support they will provide.

Gary Fairlie – Missile (toggle) switches and fuses and a Webber Carbie.

FSGT Schieb and FLGOFF Ridley-Smith – donated a Warn Winch M8000, ready for rebuild.

Opposite Lock Northside – donated 40 litre fridge, hilift jack, recovery hitch and air

compressor.

Tigerz11 – Double swag.

G60 being picked up 3 or 4 Aug to be taken to Offroad Division.

Anyone wishing to assist in the build by volunteering their time and expertise would be

appreciated. Contact Matt at Offroad Division on matt@offroaddivision.com.au or after 29 Jul.

Other than that if you have not donated yet please consider it. There will be items that we

have to purchase and I’d like to give the vehicle to him registered and if possible insured.

Week 4

The fund is at: $825.33

Errol has been in and out of hospital having Chemo. The tumours are reducing in size and

progress is slow. But it is progress!

Thanks for donations / efforts:

Extreme Limits Off Road for the donation of a 22" LED light bar and the time and efforts

that they have passed on.

Matthew Coleman for the donation of a pair of 6" Hella Rally Compact spotlights.

MaxTrax have donated a set of Maxtrax.

Fourby’s have pledged a set of tyres.

Off Road Division – has pledged use of his workshop, bar work and mechanical work at cost.

Many thanks Mat!

SGT Chris Mingay – Trophy Truck ride for Errol.

If you have a warn out, Warn Winch that is in your shed, Mat has offered to rebuild it for Errol.

The build will begin shortly and the time frame has been set to hand the finished vehicle back

the Errol mid Sept. That is only six weeks away.

Week 3

The fund is sitting at $563.33. Many thanks to those that have donated. If you have not

donated please consider it as every dollar counts and the sooner we have enough the sooner

Errol can have his dream come true.

I have not been able to get in touch with Raoul D'Arcy for the last two days for an update but I

hope all is going well for them.

Thanks for donations / efforts:

Extreme Limits Off Road for the donation of a 22" LED light bar and the time and efforts

that they have passed on.

Matthew Coleman for the donation of a pair of 6" Hella Rally Compact spotlights.

I am still sending out more and more letters requesting sponsorship from business in the

industry. If you know anyone in the "trade" please do not hesitate to ask them and give me a

call.

If you have gear that you no longer use that is on the list (or something that I have not thought

off) and would like more space in your shed, that is very welcome as well.

Week 2

Firstly - the fund is sitting at $445.33, (the 33 cents is interest). Well done to those members

that have contributed to the account.

Secondly - Errol is doing much better, recovery from surgery, since his stay in hospital he

has progressed well. Chemo is still taking its toll and will be ongoing for approx 4 - 6 weeks.

Tumors are reducing in size.

Just waiting on his father (SGT D'Arcy) to take some "sneaky" photos to show everyone what

we are dealing with, and Eroll's 'wish list'.

I have a been contacted by a Vietnam Veteran that is willing to donate an entire

vehicle, located in Ballarat Vic, be it that the front end (panels) are rusted badly.

A member in Vic is willing to make a trip up to deliver items to Brisbane.

Week 1

I will try to place an update on these forums every week until the project is complete.

Firstly - the fund is sitting at $280.00. Well done to those members that have contributed to

the account.

Secondly - Errol is not doing to well, with a stay in hospital last week that was not the most

pleasant experience.

So - if you have not donated already please consider a donation and help this young man get

back into the bush with his dad and brother, off roading, camping and shooting.

Ladies and Gentlemen of the off roading, shooting and camping nature,

Errol D'Arcy is the son of SGT D'Arcy 6 RAR. He has been diagnosed with Eweings Sarcoma,

a form of bone cancer. He has had numerous operations and a titanium plate in his leg.

Recent scans have indicated that he has four more tumours.

Sadly, his girlfriend lost her battle with cancer last week (they met in the cancer ward) and her

funeral was last Friday.

Some of you may have noticed SGT D'Arcy asking for parts or knowledge for his son's Nissan

Patrol G60. Errol and his girl friend were working on this together.

So my proposal to all on this forum is let’s make their dream come true before it is too late.

I have already sent off an e-mail to a off road magazine requesting assistance but will not

hold my breath there.

After EX Talisman Sabre and Hammel There will be fund raising drives around Toowoomba

and Brisbane for those interested.

I have raised a Defence Bank Account for donations. This has two signatures required for

withdrawal (SGT Andrew Fletcher and WO2 Shane Armstrong).

All I ask is that when people donate that they place their Name (or initials) and the State they

are from so that Errol knows how many people are behind him and care.

Account Name: A. Fletcher and S. Armstrong (Errol D'Arcy Fund)

Member No: 7223

BSB: 803-205

ACC: 20364027

If you have spare parts or skills that could be used and wish to assist please contact

myself (the G60 is in Kallangur QLD). I can put you in contact with Raoul D'Arcy or try to

organise a time to have this done so that Errol is surprised with it.

My best mate has 7 G60s in varying states of repair, so if you're looking for a hard to find part, send me a PM and I'll see if he can help.

There's also a reasonably active Patrol forum with a number of G60 owners on it who might be interested in this project.

Hey, - I'm Turkey's mate (mentioned above).

I have a small collection of 7 G60 Patrols down here in Tassie waiting for me to finish my shed and start working on.

As mentioned previously - there's a decent G60 community split between RMP-O.com (http://www.rmp-o.com/phpBB3/) and 60patrol.com (http://www.60patrol.com/forum/). If you're after parts and knowledge - they are the best places to ask. We're a pretty friendly bunch mostly. There are some Queensland members - I'm just not sure where abouts in QLD.

If you want I can post in the G60 forums and link them back here (or straight to the patrol4x4 thread) - but it would probably be better coming from someone a little closer to the situation who can keep it updated.
