Hi Guys
Some of you may remember Weeds posted a link to a photography workshop in Broken hill
Well I have spoken to Michael tonight and I have to say he is a top bloke and he truly is a Land Rover tragic and although doesn't own one LOVES defenders!!!!
I'm organising a workshop at Broken Hill the same as the ones on his website however its exclusive to AULRO.:) There is no date (hopefully sometime in the next 6 months) set yet as I'm gauging interest. I'm keen and so is Michael to have a large group of Land Rover drivers
From speaking with him on the phone I'm sure even the most experienced photographer would get something from this guy. He is an active commercial photographer
it will basically be around 4 days 3 of which we camp..although I believe there is some other more comfortable accommodation available at extra cost.
Meals are provided I believe. breakfast dinner and evening meal
obviously you would need a DSLR but as stated by Michael over the phone you dont need all the expensive equipment (although it does help) to get great results and he hopes to show people some techniques to confirm this.
there is a minimum of 8 spots and a maximum of 12.
once we gauge interest and hopefully we can get a forum trip together to make this happen
the cost from what I can gather worst case scenario is $865 (may possibly be able to get this down a touch but by how much I'm not sure) however from what I have seen over the net it appears that this is actually quite reasonable as many are asking up to 2 grand per person.
now even though its 12 people Max he did say that obviously partners can come etc but can not be involved in the photo stuff there would still be a cost for partners coming but that can all be clarified later if needed.
we could self cater however he has said its best to have everyone eating together because he can discuss things that are happening etc its quite an intense workshop he said there is a lot to fit and and long days of photo taking but it sounds awesome. to be honest I wouldnt want to come back and have to cook after being out on the tracks taking photos all day.
If I cant get the interest up I'm going to go anyway, but I will also open the offer up to clubs if AULROians dont take up on the offer.
I just thought having a group of like minded people with more than one common connection would could probably make a real trip of it and have fun camping at the same time.:)
If your interested which I hope people are place your interest in this thread.
If you want to come but your too far away well you never know maybe someone who is going will be happy for you to shot gun n the car
