Hi all, Am now starting to do the rebuild of the valve block . Received the o ring kit from Paulp38a a few weeks ago (thanks Paul for the prompt service), read and re read the instructions. My first question is: should I put Loctite on the screws that retain the valves and the valve caps? There was bits of (crud?) on the screws when I took the first one off, so not sure. Any advice appreciated.
Cheers, Ian

Yes, if you have it. I would use, I think its 242 screw lock. Don't use a retaining compound as you could damage the screw heads next time round. If you don't have it, can get away with it as the threads are quite fine and as such not prone to working loose.

Good luck with it.

You could low strength loctite on there if you wanted. As far as I know all the threads are blind so dont need sealing.
Ive rebuilt two blocks and didn't use any loctite and they're fine; that was 5 years ago.

Loctite 222 would be best, followed by 2422.

A bit of Loctite thread locker will do no harm. Not the heavy duty stuff though as I broke a couple of bolts on a valve block that had been sealed with that stuff, complete overkill.
When I tighten the screws and bolts on the valve block, I do them up so they feel "tight". Not stupid butt-clenching tight, or limp-wrist girly-man tight, just enough so I give a little grimace :)
