I was chiseling a bit of wood out of a wall cavity yesterday and was using a wood chisel and hammer.
Some where during the process the Handle had come loose from the chisel tang, just enough room for the skin and flesh of my pinky to sit in the gap, un beknown to me I hit it with a hammer again and it squashed the handle back onto the tag with my flesh between it. Apart from hurting like blazes, I couldn't free my finger, It took Heather & my son each to grab the chisel from both ends and pull to free me, and they weren't doing fast enough for my liking. Big blood blister of course appeared.
This goes after dropping 2 brake discs on my big toe a couple of weeks ago.
It didn't actually hurt at first, i have type 2 diabetes so foot circulation is pretty ordinary, it was that next morning at 3.00am that the extreme pain woke me and I took some of my tramdol, that didn't fix it so some Panadeine forte and it took the edge of it. And one big blue toe
I need to be a bit more careful!

WARNING TO ALL
Stay away from Roverlord when he has tools in his hands.
He doesn't appear to be too safe to be near at this time.
Cheers

It must be a Land Rover parts vendor thing, Gaz (Miss May) on a Pommie LR forum has racked up frequent flyer points at his local A & E. :p

I went camping last weekend, fell asleep in front of the BIG camp fire (was minus temps) melted my boots, and somehow ended up with a big wound on my shin, no idea how I did it, burn, popped blister, banged it? no clue except it still hurts! OUCH!

This topic made me remember a painful event from about twenty years ago now. Geeze time goes. Split my right little finger length ways to the first knuckle. So was in just a little bit of pain. Then ( yes I managed a then :) ) I took most of nail of the right thumb with a hammer. Ahh the memories of younger days.

The things we did when younger.
I was working in Alice Springs at the old meatworks.
Doing a recon job on one of the big commercial fridge compressors. I had just wrestled the flywheel off it (about 650Kilo of cast iron) and was rolling it to the left to get it out of my way. Some fool had put a ruddy great lectric motor there hadn't they. Caught my left hand between the flywheel and the drive pulley of the motor, can't reprint the words I used here, the swear jar isn't big enough.

Was working on a sash window, replacing the locks when the upper section dropped and caught my thumb. The top of the upper section dropped and caught my thumb, over the upper edge of the lower section. I was left hanging at arms length, not able to sit or stand (without being on toes) for over an hour until someone walked past and I could yell at them. In all that the nail disappeared as well and the window looked like a murder scene.

Ouch!
Monday last week I burnt half my face off, and last night I severely burnt my right hand. :(
Oh and the key for my Disco decided to stop working that same day so I was unable to take myself or be taken to the doctor/hospital..

If I haven't cut, bruised, or squashed something when working on the cars/bike, then there's something wrong...

Yep tools are dangerous,
Angle Grinder: was polishing a car in my younger days with a large angle grinder with wool buff pad and the cord got around the pad and it also caught my hand and the tighten on my had and was crushing it, it happened in a split second, the cord got cut and this stopped as the cable got cut through, all in mileseconds.
Drills: drilled through my had once with a high speed bit:o didn't realise until there was blood coming out of the other side of my hand also.
Hammer: was fixing a iron roof and tried to hammer a gal roofing nail in and hit my knuckle, not once but twice in succession.:o
Saftey boots,: walked over a 3" nail and it pierced the sole, and stuck in foot, had to pry it off.
Gum boots:, in my young days worked at a job and swept up glass from broken bottles on a production line, as I lifted the bin they use to discard the glass, the bottom of the bin fell off and it's contents naturally filled my gum boot:o
Spanner: one let go on a tough nut and knocked me in the forehead and nose, the force I was outing on that nut nearly knocked me out cold.
Cars: When I was 18, was coming back through Dalby Qld, missed the turnoff to Moonee, so found a dirt road ( Kupan Flood Bypass road) was doinf 70 kph in the wee hours 3.am the country is dead flat, there was a hairpin bend, without and warning signs and I along with my sleeping mate did the Griswells trip to Walley World and ran straight of the road, whilst sliding on the ground on the drivers side door and stopped upside down, mate slept through it, I had to wake him to tell him not to unclip his seat belt too quick as he was hanging upside down.
As you can see I'm a safe bloke, so anyone for a trip??;)
