Hi all, looking for peoples thoughts/preferences on oil brands for 300Tdi.
The last service i used penrite 15w/40. Am due for another change.
A mate uses castrol rx super in his perentie. A 20litre drum is $89.
The penrite i purchased last time was $79 for 10 litres.
I dont mind spending a bit for a good oil but 20 litres for $89 seems good value.

Either is good, you want an xW-40, no heavier and IMO it needs to have API CI-4+ or an ACEA E4 specification somewhere in the list.

Use whatever you can get a good deal on from a reputed brand, RX Super is an excellent oil.

FWIW that Penrite price seems a little high as I use their full synthetic, all singing, all dancing 10W-40, meets all the latest and hardest HD oil and engine manufacturer/large truck specs for $165/20l, walk in off the street price.
