Anyone added one of the Sport Style ones as per the image?

I just realised what they have done with these "Re-Manufactured" They are Stock D2 Grill's with holes drilled and sprayed silver.
A nice DIY project! I just seen one on a UK Forum.
Not sure they look that nice though.

Wasn't there a special grill made for middle east export Disco's? Seem to remember it looked pretty good. Bob

Yes, its the Gulf States/Saudi grille ( DHB102660LML ). It was also fitted to the US Kalahari special edition D2's. They are expensive (£370 from Paddocks, £440 from Rimmer Bros.) and come in grey primer so need painting on top of that.

I'm sure there have been DIY versions of this style posted up.

I've been reliably told (but not verified just yet) that the D1 and D2 saudi grille are a direct replacement (D1 styling obviously), but with an updated part number ;)
Given that the D1 saudi grille is something like £190, it could be an option.
Or you could DIY it, lots of money to spend on bling :D

...the D1 and D2 saudi grille are exactly not even close to being the same
Fixed that for you...
This is a D1 Saudi grille:

and fitted

You could fit a D1 grille if you really wanted to hit your D2 with the ugly stick...

I can't find a "vomit" emoticon so this will have to do

You may notice I edited my post about 12 seconds after posting. I don't mean exactly the same, but they will fit the same as a D1 grille will. :)

Horses for Courses, personally I think Xrox bars are hideous, hell I've even seen a D2 with chromed door handles and mirrors. I'm just saying it's an option :p

Like this one?
:spudnikhurler:
I'm not actually considering it, I have other bling that's at the top of the list.
Then again, I may just continually reference it just to annoy you :tease::bat:
It's probably relatively easy to DIY, Monkiefone on here (and the D2BC) did a home-made job on his :)

This is the one that I've always liked. Don't think that I'd go with his choice in wheels - look nice but not very practical for most of us.
But the grill and the side vents look good in this ..............

And Muppet .................. have to agree with your comment on XROX bars. ;)

RR 20" rims from memory.
Tombie has done the side vent mod, unfortunately his photos have since disappeared.
Also, you can buy blingy grille covers like that on fleabay, I'll try and dig up some of the info on the pommy forum, but from memory they're stupidly expensive, same sort of coin as a Saudi grille

Links to the D2BC, not sure if you can see them without signing up but if you can't I highly suggest you do, lots of very interesting and useful info on there specifically for D2s

Any idea about changing to the fancy head lights too?
any mods needed, or are they a straight swap?

Yep, fair few mods.
New hockey sticks, mucking around with wiring, cutting bits out.
If you want I've got a very detailed PDF I can PM you on how to do a full facelift light conversion, fronts and rears, but you really only get one chance at it as you do have to get a bit chop suey.
Goes for anyone, if you want it, I've got it ;)

I like it though, would go well with my Blenheim Silver, but even better with Zambezi...
Cheers

With the Range Rover Sport grill, (I like that). I'd be happy to make up a template to make the holes.
But am wondering, the holes look countersunk. Is there a easy method, than counter sinking every hole on top of drilling? How did they get that effect?

Sorry about that. I'm not at an availability/pricing point yet. I'll keep all other info across at the other thread.
You might get the countersunk effect with a step drill, the step is tapered.

Would anybody know roughly what size hole is in the RR Sports grill? Its show day here tommorrow and Wednesday, so I will make a template. Ive got the stepup drills and had a play with them, and they seem to give a decent small countersunk effect, I guess I could wing it and make an original, so a close enough size would be fine. 6mm seems to look alright drawn on with a texta.
Its gonna be a fiddly job, still unsure how to make a stop to keep all the holes exactly the same, rather than eyeing them off...
