View Full Version : Scratches on Metallic Paint

Hey All,

My wife has, what appears to be claw marks on the paint of her car....like a cat has tried to run over the bonnet.

My understanding is that metallic paints have a 'clear' layer over the top of the paint. It looks like it's only the clear that has been penetrated.

Are there good products on the market that can easily fill this sort of damage. The car is new and wasn't exactly cheap, so I don't want anything that will look 'Mr Armature Hour'.

Thanks.

Kev.

I'd keep electrical components away :)
(Armature)

Mild cut and polish or Mothers scratch remover...

Meguires scratch X will remove fine scratches from the clear coat, also removes swirl marks I've used it on my wife's black Rav4 with good results

We had a possum jump off the fence that goes around our carport, onto the right side mirror then onto the roof of the D2a.
The gouges on the mirror are around 1to 1.5mm deep in the plastic and the gouges on the edge of the roof, just above the gutter are down to the metal.

It was mating season,so i suppose a few battles were on after sunset......

No cats around here, the dogs sort that out:D
But they can't seem to sort out the brushtails.

Could do with one of them over here. We don't have possums, but I've been pretty busy with "removing" a few cats from the neighbourhood pool lately when I've been home.

Used to have a German Shepherd cross Samoyed - she did a brilliant job. :D
