Hello - I have a Land Rover 109 Series IIA vehicle on my farm situated south of Canberra, it runs well but bodywork and internal cabin require a significant amount of work. The vehicle is used as a farm vehicle and currently unregistered, but I'm trying to get an idea of where to start and where there may be Land Rover restoration specialists in the ACT/Southern NSW area. Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated.

Give us some idea of a 'significant amount of work' - photos would be appreciated.

As a rule getting a pro to fix up your truck will be expensive as you are paying for their time, if you have the time and willingness to learn you'll be amazed at how much you can do yourself, and maybe just farm out some of the more complicated stuff.

I'm doing my 2a 109 (see Members Rides) ... I won't lie to you, it's frustration and reward in equal measure, but learning new skills along the way has made it worthwhile :BigThumb:

I guess it depends how 'prefect' you want it? I was happy to retain the dents, purely because that's a part of it's life ... if you are looking for concours I'm not your guy :D There's people out there that will do the work, but they will charge accordingly ... and from my experience, LRs tend to cost more sometimes because they are "different" which in they eyes of the people doing the work equals "harder" :mad: ... so be careful if you go down that route.

Agree wholeheartedly, I've done a few cars over the years but never have I enjoyed rebuilding anything as I have with the 2 Landy's I've done/doing. As SWMBO says to my mates "It's a Landrover thing darling, you wouldn't understand" Have a go, you'll get the bug soon enough, then it's a downward spiral to become a Roverphile! bahahahahaha!!!!:D:D
