I'm up in Port Douglas where it was rather wet last week (http://www.theweatherchaser.com/radar-loop/IDR192-cairns/2013-09-05-10/2013-09-09-10) and am trying to decide whether to give it a go solo tomorrow. It's been dry for two days now but I'm not terribly keen on hitting it alone if it'll still be a circus.

The Cairns Land Rover Owners club is heading up there on Saturday. I am going with them. If you have a LR you should tag along.

I'm hoping to be on Fraser Island on Saturday; otherwise that would be perfect.

Nice to know at worst I'll only be waiting a few days for my Defender to be recovered by friendlies if I get really stuck!

Late update; two days of dry weather did the trick. Relatively tame but still an amazing track!
