Here I am again reporting some more unfortunate joy with my 2012 D4 3.0 with 25k on the clock (been off-road once for an LR afternoon).
Previous warranty works included loose tie rod end nut, changing brake pads, changing some spring in steering wheel, repeated wheel balancing to fix shimmy, numerous creaks and cracks....
A few weeks ago I felt that the ride had gotten more and more bouncy, increased body roll and overall loss of tightness - on uneven roads when one side gets a different input from the other you get thrown from left to right - it feels as if the shocks extend more than they should. Now there isn't any excessive break dive nor is there much oscillation.
LR had a look and went about tightening all suspension bolts, which helped restoring a tighter ride but the bounce is still there paired with something I can only describe as 'nervous slightly vibrating suspension' when travelling at speed on the highway.
In addition (not sure if related) the D4 has now developed what I can only describe as a tyre rolling noise (have factory wranglers) when idling from low speed to a stop (e.g. approaching a traffic light), however the noise does not occur if put in neutral.
Decided to bring the car to an independent in the next weeks and pay for a check-up. I know there is a couple of places in Melbourne - any recommendations for a D4 expert?
