In August!
Not being able to see the fins on the cpu heatsink prompted a spring clean. pics to come, maybe.

So I've spent the last 2 hours dissasembling and using the air compressor to blow the dust away.
Just one small bit of metal work, couldnt help myself, I removed the PSU compartment "roof", now I can run a third DX11 card as a dedicated Phys-x card.
stop laughing Inc!

now to fit it all back in--

sigh,
did I mention I upgraded the GPU fan on the old 8800GT? nice big zalman heatpipe one,, and the beautiful brass knurled knobs on the back that hold it to the card stop me fitting my other card,,

I tend to build a new one, have to replace everything under warranty, run it for two years and then start again,

quit ya giggling!
I only had two screws left over!
and I can account for one!

around 3 hours, not bad I reckon,

hmm, I wonder if I can retrofit the original 8800 fan:eek::twisted:

I cannot believe with sooo much dust how there is not corrosion on the board
When I was living near the beach I have to clean the PC very often other ways the dust plus humidity will kill the machine in no time.
I never was able to keep a graphics card going well for more than a year :(
