Can anyone confirm for me that S1 86" hoodsticks have a radius across the top of the H/sticks similar to S2 etc, I'm sure they do and the 80" H/sticks have a 90 deg bend and are basically flat across the top, am I correct ??, I need to know ASAP as I'm off into the interior to buy some bits for my S1 86", cheers Dennis:angel:

I'm just about to order a full set of hood sticks and canvas from the UK for my 80in, they asked if I wanted flat or bowed hood sticks...should I go for flat in the Interest of originality? Cheers.

Go for flat if you're happy with a water feature on your roof after rain... Otherwise, try bowed.
There is a reason why Land Rover changed to bowed hoops.

later 80" had bowed I thought.
From memory the 86" hood sticks are the same style as the 88"

According to James Taylor, all 48, 49, and 50 up to 06105463 and 06300027 had flat sticks.
From that number on had curved sticks

Hi
yes they were changed later on 1950 80 inch vehicles
I decided that I did not need a upper swimming pool on a rainy day, I cheated and folded up a extra part hoop to go in the middle between the front and rear hoops on my 49
works a treat, even many rivet counters have not noticed, been too busy counting rivets
cheers

Cool, mines a 51 so I will get the bowed sticks...not much into rivet counting anyway!
