Remove the fuel pump fuse and run the engine. When it dies, the pressure is gone.

No pump running and no pressure. I changed mine a few weekends ago, didn't have to depressurise anything.

G'day,
Look on common rail for fuel injectors (drivers side) on top of the engine.
You will find a relief valve under the black valve cap. Looks remarkably similar to a tyre valve cap.
Depress to relieve any pressure. (Watch out for petrol in the eyes!)
Hope this helps

And make sure you mop up spilt fuel (normally collects on top of valley gasket, melting the composite coating on the gasket if left long enough).
