Hi all, my Wife and I are flying to Melbourne from Hobart next Thursday to basically buy a 2010 Defender 110, we have only seen pictures and spoken at length with the owner, who works at TJM in Coburg ( we have the Ferry booked for Saturday 24/8 to get us and the car home). The Defender has 36-37,000 kms on it and a fair bit of TJM gear, including front and rear Pro lockers. We have had ARB air lockers previously in our HDJ78 Troopy and got plenty of grief from the rear Locker O ring passing Diff oil back to the compressor
Any hints or tips on what to check out, inspect, etc with the Defender in general, or these TJM Pro lockers? Any help would be appreciated before we hand over the Lolly. Cheers, Kanga1.

I drive past that Defender nearly every day & have never seen anything strange with the car.
I have bought equipment from that store before as has my son & they have always been good to deal with.
Find out who has been servicing the car & then ring the service manager up to see if service has been done per book & recalls done.
This is what a Tasmanian purchaser of my D3 did when I sold mine.
Cheers

Thanks for that reply, I hadn't thought of asking who has been doing the servicing, (I made the mistake of assuming that he was doing it at the workshop) I'll send a txt and find out who has been waving the spanners! Cheers, Kanga1.

If you need a lift from the Airport to the vehicle, let me know as I can do this if required.:)

Cheers Bacicat, I think we will be pretty right at the moment, your public transport in Melbourne is World class. We are coming into Melbourne on Thursday night and want to go to the 4wd Camping Show at the Showgrounds on Friday morning for a quick look around ( we want to have a look at the James Baroud roof tents) and then go and see the car in the afternoon, hopefully get it up the hoist at the workshop in Coburg for a look, and do the actual transaction on Saturday morning as we have nowhere to park it on the Friday night. All things being equal the Defender and us will be on the Spirit on Saturday evening for the night crossing. Would like to catch up with other Land Rover people if time permits (maybe at the 4WD camp show?) My email is 14ady2@gmail.com Thanks again Bacicat, your blood is worth bottling. Kanga1
