GMB Fender Locker - Expedition - Products (http://www.mudstuff.co.uk/products/expedition/gmb-fender-locker.html)

Not sure if these have been discussed before, thought it was a good idea.

I like the idea... would be handy on a D90, give you another little hidy hole to put things.

Price is a little steep though - $220 Oz!!!

I've always thought about making one of them, never realised you could get one off the shelf. This is how I plan to mount my winch solenoid :)

I quite like the idea of the a master switch for the winch or an airline :)

I have always mounted my winch Solenoid behind the head light ( loads of space behind there on a defender, and keeps it nice and dry and away from mud ) and have the control switch on the dash and the original plug under the headlight

Those fender lockers look really good and I'll bet would cost a fair bit to get someone to make one up for you locally anyway. Freight might be a bastard. I'd like one though.

They look like a quality product.

I wonder if a Group Buy would reduce the price?

Price reduction wouldn't be much I reckon (unfortunately) but hey I 'm speaking out my ar%$ :)

Why at that price didn't they put the rubber dust cap in the one package. An extra 2.50?... Really?

mools

Because the dust cap costs them ~2c, maybe? An extra $2.48 profit or alternatively a staggering 12400% mark up on cost

First thing that came to mind when I saw the locker photo was that it looks like one of the trays from a Bain Marie with a lid/lock on it.

Anyone else thinking the same thing ;)

Haha - funny man - just saw your post. Got in the old defender today and thought to myself something along the lines of "yep, I like this" - something that never happens when I get in a modern car, but then again I haven't owned a new Deefer or Disco.
Was also tempted by the Disco 3 with blown motor for $6000 in the markets section. :)

I thought we'd put this to bed in the other thread Didge? Now Take a good look where your posting this **** and quit your jibber jabbering about Discos :D :D

Nothing like returning a thread from the dead but I really like this idea, but not the cost. What about something like one of these?

Large Black Storage Recessed Glove BOX With Lock 2 Keys Boat Caravan CAR 4x4 | eBay (http://www.ebay.com.au/itm/LARGE-BLACK-STORAGE-RECESSED-GLOVE-BOX-WITH-LOCK-2-KEYS-Boat-Caravan-Car-4x4-/251740083933)

Obviously quality differs but surely a good quality one of these marine hatches would be the dogs bolocks :D

I like the Fender Locker. Would be interested if there was a group offer.

They do look very nice, and very "professional", but I must still get around to doing the fender mod from this thread:

Ive been thinking of making something similar, didnt realize you could buy them off the shelf.

I was thinking of putting an airline, an anderson plug for jump starting or getting jump started (would require a bit of cable) and some switches for engine bay lights.

I'm being cheeky posting in the defender thread but I like the hatch idea for the D2. I want to put hatches in my rear quarter panels though because there is a lot of free space there on a disco. Hatches could work in the rear of a 110 wagon too though under the windows to provide access to the load area.

Anyone had a crack at using a more reasonably priced alternative?

Seems it will be about $250 landed which is a stretch to far

Thinking it might be a case of cutting a lid out and hinging to the guard top similar to the GMB fender locker and bend up a few brackets to locate the gear I want to install inside.

Cheers
