My Dad just picked up a '93 200TDi Defender 110 single cab but we can't identify the dash. Everything else seems the same as a standard Defender except for the dash. Previous owner who was the owner from new said it's original. Can anyone give any info on this please?

Looks like a Bob the Builder Job!

We were thinking it was a custom job but the guy we got it from says it's original and he gave us the receipt from the dealer he bought it from new in '93. Gotta admit though, looks pretty cool!

That's random!! Can I see the warning light cluster down where the clock and cigarette lighter should be?? More photos needed... :)

Just took a few more pictures. It's be prepped for some big trips around Aus. The camper built on the back is super handy. I've also noticed the front lights look different too...

All the bolts inside on the dash and also on the head light surrounds are stainless hex key fittings too. We've looked up everything and have no clue.

Maybe a custom job from the dealer to fit coloured light surrounds and a louder stereo(2 6x9 speakers) ?
Or maybe a minor electrical fire or clumsy mechanic/salesman with a ciggie melted part of the dash before the sale and was cheaper for dealer to fit a local handmade dash than import a new plastic one, and he fitted the speakers and light surrounds and called it a special edition?:D Would be interesting to find out.
p.s where are the fuses?

The Bumpers not original either, and I don't think the head light cowls are either...
Could just be a 57......!!!

It has the normal light switch and what looks like a army style black out switch. Maybe a special military type experimental/trial hack. But other than that, I have no idea.

At first look, it looks like an Army 6x6 dash, but upon searching Google images, only a basic similarity.

We were thinking possibly military but we have the receipt from '93 when it was bought new from a dealer so it'd have to be a civilian model.

It is a puzzle that i can't answer.
Can you post the VIN or chassis number, that could reveal something of interest when de-coded.
I find it interesting because I have started modifying my dash to improve air flow from the vent flaps, particularly for the driver, as I will not be using air con. I see one or two ideas there that I might pinch.

Saw this on eBay. Hope you got it for a steal. Liked the idea of the camper. ;)

We scored it for a great deal. I'll have a look at the Chassis and the Vin tomorrow and post them up. We've got some big plans for it so it's capable off road whilst being really practical, should be a fun project.
