Rear suspension wobble over bump D1 97

Hey everyone, I am in a predicament, as I have a strange wobble in rear axle once I go over a bump. Its a this wobble or a shake that seems like the axle is loose or I have no shocks.

I have 97 Disco 1 Auto, and recently changed all bushes (to stock rubber), adjusted the swivel pin preload, and installed Koni Heavy Track shocks (on soft setting). After all that was done the truck was fine for about 3 months and I developed this vibration. I looked under and to the naked eye, everything is fine, but I think I will bring it to the shop to check and tighten everything.

I will have to check those Koni's, but those are quality shocks and after 3 months they should be OK.

Its a 97 so I was thinking that maybe springs are worn out. BTW, I have a stock tires, what should be the height of the truck with stock springs?

Any clues?

check tightness of bolts on rear bushes.
Check rear trailing arm bushes.
Check rear A frame joint although I think when this fails it generally causing clunking on take off.
have you had your tyre balance checked? perhaps you have lost a wheel weight at the back.
perhaps check your mounting holes for the springs they can wear in an oval shape and create movement in the shock.
last thing I can think of is check the rear Doughnut from the tail shaft..assuming you still have it or if not check the UJ. the doughnut can cause vibration when its letting go.

you didnt say whether it is at specific speeds you feel it because the other thing I was going to say is check wheel bearings for movement and make sure your wheel nuts havent worked loose :D

Only ever tighten bolts on bushes after the car has settled to normal position. That way you won't keel the bushes by tightening them up and flexing the 30% by putting it back on the ground.

make sure the ball joint hasn't broken off the top of the housing!

Ouch, that ball joint looks painful, hopefully not the case on mine truck.
I will inspect that in fact over the weekend and maybe needs replacement.

I think that after 3 months of new bushings the car has settled already, so I will go a ahead and tighten the bushings a little this weekend too.

I will revert back with findings.

My Allisport uprated Intercooler just got here, so I will have a busy weekend :)))

I checked the ball joint and it looks fine no signs of any damage, so it must be tightening of the bushings.

Mines a 300TDI auto and I recently experienced bad vibration in the back end. Pulled out read tail shaft and went for a drive, problem still there. Out came front tailshalft and presto bad uni in the front causing vibration in the rear of the Disco. I thought it was going to be the diff for shaw. $27 bucks later and she rides like new.:)

Do you mean the uni joint for the front of the front tail shaft? or the rubber coupling?

Uni joint on the front tail shaft was flogged out and it only vibrated between 35-50km/hr fine at other speeds. Very strange.
