Hi Forumites,
I have a couple of bags of new desiccant from my old RR P38A, is it the same as the dessicant in the newer Range Rover air suspension, is one better or worse than the other? Thanks in anticipation.

Most are based on silica gel or something similar. Problems arise in the EAS when the material is shaken around and the fine particles get past the filter and damage valves etc. Should be quite OK

If you want to regenerate the desiccant I suggest emptying the canister into a large kitchen sieve and gently shaking the fines loose, then spread the coarse material out thinly on a baking tray and place it into a cold oven then heat the oven to 105 deg C and leave it for a few hours -a fan forced oven is even better...you can assure SWMBO it's not toxic;)

Let the oven cool and then remove the desiccant and put it back in the drying canister, with as little agitation as possible... make sure the filter (paper?) is properly positioned. This stuff can be regenerated many times...
